Geo Fencing
Geo Fencing creates virtual boundaries to automate actions when your IoT SIM cards enter or exit specific area
Geo Fencing in OV One allows you to monitor the location of your IoT SIM cards without requiring GPS. Instead, it relies on the mobile network to detect the location of SIM cards based on Cell Information.
By drawing a polygon on a map to define a Geo Fence, you can track when your SIM cards enter or exit specific areas of interest.
This feature is useful for creating location-based rules and automating actions, such as sending alerts or applying new logic to your SIMs.
Key Concepts
- Geo Fence: A virtual boundary that you define by drawing a polygon on a map. It represents a specific geographical area, like a country, city, or region.
- Tags: Used to group SIM cards in OVOne. When you assign a Tag to a Geo Fence, any SIMs associated with that Tag will trigger events when they enter or exit the Geo Fence.
- Geo Fence Entry/Exit Events: Automatically triggered when a SIM card moves into or out of the defined area. These events can be used to trigger alerts, logic, or actions.
- Endpoints: External systems that can receive event notifications, such as Geo Fence Entry or Exit events.
- Rule Engine: Allows you to create custom logic and automation based on events, such as applying Rate Plans or raising Alerts or Suspending service.
