Data Sessions
The Data Sessions dashboard allows you to quickly analyse your SIM estates Data Sessions.
What is a Data Session?
A data session refers to a period during which an IoT device exchanges data over a mobile network using a SIM card. Each session starts when the device establishes a data connection and ends when that connection is terminated, either by the device or the network.
In the context of IoT connectivity, a data session includes key information such as:
SIM identifier (e.g., ICCID or IMSI)
Session start and end timestamps
Total data sent and received
IP address assigned during the session
Access point name (APN) used for connection
Serving network and roaming status
Tracking data sessions helps you understand device behaviour, monitor connectivity patterns, and detect anomalies. This is especially valuable for diagnosing issues, optimizing performance, and managing data usage across your IoT deployment.
The OV One CMP provides near real time data session information each record is updated after 100MB or 15 minutes whichever occurs first.
The user is able to interact with each individual data session to discover more granular detail on each data session
